These samples are intended to give our customers the opportunity to try out our parts.

The parts are marked to easily find the orientation of the transmission axis and the difference between the glass and the MicroWire™ side of the part.  Figure 1 below is marked with the glass side facing into the page, and the MicroWire™ side is facing out of the page.  The transmission axis is identified with the double-sided arrow.

Transmission Axis

The transmission axis at MOXTEK™ is always referenced from the long side of the part.  The angle is defined using a Cartesian coordinate system (right to left, 0° to 179°).  The tolerance that we hold is ±0.5°.

Thickness: 0.7 ± 0.1 mm

Flatness: 3 l/inch  (638 nm)
*The only product available on Schott Borofloat™ is PBF02.

Explanation of Tolerances

Thickness – The thickness tolerance is dependent on our substrate vendor.  The manufacturing process has virtually no affect on the thickness tolerance.
Dimensional – The dimensional tolerance is most generally due to the scribe and break process we use to make parts out of a wafer.
