Transmission and Reflection Sources 40 kV and 50 kV are high output, low power consumption devices.
They are capable of delivering a high intensity flux (approximately 2 x 1011 photons/sec/steradian/0.10 μA) into a large solid angle of 45 degrees at the full width half maximum, with an excellent angular uniformity (Fig 1). These features, combined with the small focal spot of 300 microns and high energy concentration in the characteristic lines, make the sources attractive for the high contrast and high spatial resolution imaging. Compact, customizable form factor and simple control interface enable easy integration into radiographic, radioscopic, and CT instruments. With the maximum high voltage potential 50 kV, beam current 0.20 mA, and total power of up to 10 W; the sources enable short measurement times while providing for high quality data. The sources operate on the input voltage range of 7-12 VDC with the maximum power consumption of 7-20 W, which makes them ideal for the light weight portable instruments for small animal imaging.
